It has been reported that Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is a "live contender" for a managerial position in the Premier League.

Following the sacking of Rafael Benitez at Everton on the weekend, the ex-Red Devils striker has emerged as a real candidate for the vacant role due to his relationship with the Toffees.
Rooney, an academy product of the Merseyside club, is currently in charge of Derby County in the English Championship, where the Rams are aiming to defy belief by avoiding relegation.
The Championship side was deducted 21 points earlier this season after entering into administration in September and for breaching English Football League (EFL) financial rules.

Despite those aforementioned challenges, Rooney's team has managed to get themselves out of last place on the table, although 24th-placed Barnsley do have two games in hand.
According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, the 36-year-old would be open to accepting an offer from Everton should one arrive, and his former teammate Rio Ferdinand has tipped his ex-colleague to take the job.
"You take the job in a heartbeat (if you're Rooney)," he said on his YouTube channel Vibe with Five.
"If he could have it his way, I'm sure he'd say, 'Listen, keep Big Dunc (Duncan Ferguson) as the interim, let me keep Derby up and I'll be there in the summer', but that's hugely unlikely.
"(Belgium manager Roberto) Martinez has got to relinquish going to the World Cup (with Belgium). You can see Rooney, boyhood club and Big Dunc is his mate, his idol growing up, knows the fabric of the club."
