Two Reasons Why Manchester United's Jose Mourinho Is Annoyed With Paul Pogba Revealed?
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and club record signing Paul Pogba have reportedly fallen out. Could these be the reasons why the duo is at loggerheads?
The Frenchman did not feature in United's 2-0 FA Cup win over Huddersfield Town due to illness, and last completed a full 90 minutes against Burnley on 20 January.
He was substituted off early in the Red Devils' defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, while starting the league win over Huddersfield off the bench.
English publication the Daily Record believes that Mourinho is growing frustrated with the 24-year-old due to two reasons.
The United boss is reportedly unhappy with Pogba's apparent inability to link up with new signing Alexis Sanchez, with the report suggesting that Mourinho feels the France superstar has not done enough to accommodate the Chilean at Old Trafford.
In addition, the Portuguese tactician is also believed to be getting increasingly frustrated with the former Juventus midfielder's failure to take his tactics, and, in particular, his defensive duties, on board.
Mourinho, though, has insisted there is no fallout between himself and the player, and that Pogba is just experiencing a bad run of form.
"I think you are nice with your words because when you say a lot of speculation, you should say a lot of lies," he said at a press conference on Friday, as quoted by The Independent.
"I accept and can speak on Paul's behalf without any kind of problem. Paul accepts he has not been playing well, but that's all.
"The majority of things you can read and listen to, don't be polite about them, be objective and say they are lies."
