In the beginning of the transfer window, Yaya Toure's agent claimed the African would be prepared to join a new team for just £1 a week, but he is currently still without a club and reports suggest his £100 000 wage demands are to blame.

The four-time African Footballer of the Year's contract with Manchester City came to an end in June, but Toure was keen to stay in England.
Initial reports linked him with newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton and West Ham United, while Crystal Palace were understood to be the latest Premier League team interested in his services.
Outside of England, Marseille were believed to be looking at the 35-year-old, and his agent Dimitri Seluk even boldly stated that his client would accept a new contract of just £1 per week along with performance-based add-ons.
However, French outlet Foot Mercato has now suggested that Toure is looking for weekly wages of £100 000, which has stopped EPL sides from going after him. The latest rumour around Toure suggests that he could make a move to the US and sign for Major League Soccer club Montreal Impact.
The English transfer window closes in two days, and Toure remains without a club, even though, as a free agent, he could still sign with a new side after the window officially shuts on Thursday.
However, the 2018/19 Premier League campaign starts on Friday, and it seeming less and less likely that Toure will be picked up by an English top flight side.
