Transfer Update: Pogba
Transfer Update: Manchester United's Paul Pogba
With Paul Pogba reportedly not happy with life under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, here is an update on the Frenchman's future at the Red Devils amid rumours Real Madrid are chasing his signature.
Having played just 154 minutes of United's past three league games, Pogba is reportedly having a frustrating time in England under Mourinho, who is believed to be annoyed with his superstar midfielder.
Since reports of unrest in the club's dressing room emerged, the 24-year-old has been linked with Los Blancos, but Spanish football expert Guillem Balague does not think there is anything to the rumours.
"It is normal that when things are not perfect with the superstar of a big club, stories emerge in the media," he told Sky Sports.
"Regarding Pogba, a leak to French publication L'Equipe suggested he wants a different position on the pitch to improve his performances.
When reports like that emerge, don't be surprised that reports claiming Real Madrid want him soon follow. But they don't, they do not have the money to finance such a deal after they buy their main targets this summer.
"Perhaps, more importantly, Real president Florentino Perez does not view him as a target."
Pogba was absent from United's FA Cup clash against Huddersfield on Saturday, and it is not yet known whether or not he will be available for their UEFA Champions League clash against Sevilla on Wednesday.
