The Highest Paid EPL Stars After Sanchez's Man Utd Deal

Alexis Sanchez reportedly became the Premier League's highest paid player after his switch to Manchester United. Here is how his new wage compares to the league's other top earners.

The Chilean is understood to have put pen to paper on a whopping £500 000 (R8.5 million) a week contract, according to widespread reports*.

Sanchez's massive wage, which is understood to include image rights, has seen him open a big gap on the rest of the English top flight's highest paid players.

Mesut Ozil has piped Paul Pogba to second place after his recent contract extension that saw his salary rise to £350 000 (R6 million), while the Manchester United midfielder follows, with £290 000 (R4.9 million). Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly pocketing £280 000 (R4.7 million) after his contract extension at Manchester City last week.

Romelu Lukaku is the third United player in the top five, receiving £250 000 (R4.2 million) a week since joining the Red Devils.

The top five is followed by a pack of five stars, namely Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Yaya Toure, who all sit on £220 000 (R3.7 million) every seven days.

Red Devils goalkeeper David de Gea completes the top pack with a reported weekly income of £200 000 (R3.4 million).
