The Red Devils reportedly spent £52 million (R936 million) to secure the Brazilian's services, making him the club's fifth most expensive signing of all time.
The midfielder will arrive in England with a good reputation after many good performances for Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League, and will reportedly earn a weekly wage of £85 000 (R1.5 million) at the club.
The highest paid player is still Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, who signed for United in January. The former Arsenal star is believed to be on £450 000 (R8.1 million) a week, ahead of Paul Pogba on £290 000 (R5.2 million) weekly.
Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is said to be on £250 000 (R4.2 million) a week, followed by goalkeeper David de Gea, who reportedly earns a weekly wage of £200 000 (R3.6 million).
Spanish playmaker Juan Mata is said to earn £145 000 (R2.6 million) a week at the Old Trafford-based club, while holding midfielder Nemanja Matic is on £140 000 (R2.5 million) weekly.
Marouane Fellaini, who could leave the club within the next few weeks, earns a wage of £120 000 (R2.1 million) at United, as does defender Chris Smalling.
Ninth is England international Ashley Young on £110 000 (R1.9 million) a week, followed by Ecuadorian right-back Antonio Valencia, who reportedly takes home a wage of £100 000 (R1.8 million).
Fred comes in at 11th, ahead of Ivory Coast centre-back Eric Bailly, who reportedly gets £75 000 (R1.3 million) a week in England.
