After announcing the signing of the 24-year-old Brazilian, Jurgen Klopp seemed to indicate that the player will play a big role in his plans going forward, hailing his versatility and his football knowledge.

Reports as to what he will earn at the Merseyside club also suggest he will play a massive role at his new team – it is believed he will be on £130 000 (R2.3 million) a week in England, which would make him the club’s third highest-paid player.

The two best-paid players currently at the club are Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino, who both reportedly earn £150 000 (R2.6 million) a week at Liverpool.

England striker Daniel Sturridge is still on Liverpool's wage bill with his earnings of £120 000 (R2.1 million) a week, along with arguably the Reds' biggest superstar Mohamed Salah and the industrious James Milner.

Reports suggest that it is likely Salah will be offered a bumper new deal ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, especially considering the reported interest in him from Real Madrid.

Captain Jordan Henderson is believed to be on £100 000 (R1.7 million) a week at Liverpool, and he is followed by Georginio Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane, who all reportedly earn £90 000 (R1.6 million) a week.
