Pep Guardiola lifted the 22nd trophy of his managerial career on the weekend, but is still three short of longstanding rival Jose Mourinho's silverware tally. But where does the Spaniard feature among the most successful coaches in Europe?

Click through the gallery above to see which 11 coaches have won the most silverware in Europe.

The Spanish tactician won his first title since joining Manchester City after beating Arsene Wenger's Arsenal 3-0 in the Carabao Cup final.

Sunday's League Cup triumph takes Guardiola's trophy haul to 22 – 14 with FC Barcelona, seven with Bayern Munich and now one with City.

However, he remains three titles short of Mourinho, his biggest rival in the dugout, with the pair having often clashed during their time with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Portuguese manager, with 25 trophies, is sixth among the most successful coaches in Europe, while Guardiola climbed to seventh place with his latest triumph.

Both, though, remain far off the most successful coach in European football history.

Legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson won more than double as many trophies as Guardiola did, collecting 10 with Aberdeen and 38 pieces of silverware with the Red Devils.

Click through the gallery above to see all 11 of the most successful managers in Europe – all of whom have won at least 20 trophies – and let us know if you think either Guardiola or Mourinho could still break Ferguson's all-time record one day!

Pep is the best manager ive ever seen, pep is the messi of managers, it's not only the amount of trophies hee wins, it's also how and has the ability to turn okay players into world class players, doesn't necesarily depend on buying the most expensive players you , he doesn't always have interest in every upcoming players like most of his rivals, he knows what he wants goes for it, he has bolls to bench star players
