With only two days left in the January transfer window, here are the top ten most expensive January transfers in football history - a list which includes a newly-signed FC Barcelona superstar for £65million.

LaLiga giants Barcelona feature prominently on the list, with two of the top three spots being reserved for the acquisitions of Philippe Coutinho and Frenkie De Jong respectively.
Coutinho, who moved from Premier League outfit Liverpool in January 2018, became the world's third most expensive transfer ever when he completed a £142 million (R2.2 billion) switch to Barcelona. The move also made him the costliest January signing in history.
Liverpool were also involved in the second highest transfer fee paid for a player in January, snapping up the services of highly-rated Dutch international defender Virgil van Dijk, who comnpleted a £75million transfer in January last year.
This January window, Barcelona broke the bank to beat off competition from Manchester City and Paris-Saint Germain for the signature of Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie De Jong, making him the third most expensive January signing in history.
The top 10, according to Transfermarket, also features two players, who made the moves from European clubs in pursuit of lucrative deals in China.
