The Daily Mail reported that Gabriel Jesus, 20, is after a bigger salary increase at City following a recent offer he was believed to have turned down.
The Brazilian is one of the highest earning U23 players in the Premier League, taking home a reported fee of £70,000 (R1.1 million) a week, which is the same as what defender Luke Shaw, 22, gets paid at Manchester United.
Chelsea fullback Emerson, 23, is believed to earn a weekly wage of £75,000 (R1.2 million) at his latest club, while United's Eric Bailly, who is the same age, is on the same salary.
City's Benjamin Mendy, 23, reportedly earns £80 000 (R1.3 million) a week at the Citizens, making him the sixth highest paid player on the list.
Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin, 23, is next with his wage of £100,000 (R1.6 million) – a salary also earned by City and England international defender John Stones, who is one year older than the Spaniard.
Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is said to be on £110,000 (R1.8 million) a week in London, while his former Monaco teammate Bernardo Silva reportedly earns £120,000 (R1.9 million) a week at the Etihad.
City attacker Raheem Sterling is the highest earning U23 player in the league on £180,000 (R2.9 million) a week.
