The EPL has long been a home for some of the best players in football to showcase their superb skills, and it is also in England where these players are paid some of the best salaries in the game.
Reports suggest that Manchester United superstar Alexis Sanchez is the best-paid forward in the English top flight, where, after tax, he is believed to earn a weekly wage of £350 000 (R6.8 million) representing the Red Devils.
Many have criticised the Chilean since his arrival at Jose Mourinho's United as he is yet to hit top form for the club. The 29-year-old, who has had a tough time settling in at the club, has scoring just three goals in 21 appearances so far.
Second is Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero on £250 000 (R4.9 million) a week. The Argentine has proved season after season that he is one of the deadliest forwards in world football, and has already found the back of the net three times in the new campaign.
United striker Romelu Lukaku is joint third along with Liverpool's African sensation Mohamed Salah and Chelsea's dynamic dribbler Eden Hazard, who all earn £200 000 (R3.9 million) a week.
