Despite playing in the Championship last season, newly-promoted Aston Villa have been the biggest spenders in the Premier League so far in this window. The Birmingham-based club have already signed 12 players, including Zimbabwean star Marvelous Nakamba, for a combined fee of €148.7 million (R2.4 billion).
Top four-chasing Arsenal have spent the second most with an expenditure bill of €116.7 million (R1.9 billion) following the big-money signing of Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian forward joined the Gunners for a club-record fee of €80 million (R1.3 billion) and followed the acquisition of William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.
Unsurprisingly, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City complete the top three after spending €90 million (R1.4 billion), although the bulk of that was used to sign Spanish midfielder Rodri from Atletico Madrid.
Regular big-spenders Chelsea are a notable absentee from the list, with the club serving a transfer ban after beaching Fifa's rules into the signing of foreign U18 players – click through the gallery above to see the 10 biggest spenders in the Premier League so far in this window!
