Manchester United and Leicester City will go head to head at Old Trafford in the opening fixture of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign – here is how the two teams will line up!
Teams: Manchester United vs Leicester City
Date: 10 August 2018
Venue: Old Trafford
The Red Devils, who have had a shaky pre-season, go into this game with a commanding record against the Foxes, with Jose Mourinho's side having won 13 and drawn four of their past 18 encounters against each other.
United have won their opening game of a league campaign on 17 occasions – the last time they tasted defeat in their first game of a season was in 2014, against Swansea City.
Another good omen for the Manchester club is that Mourinho has never lost a game on the opening day of a Premier League campaign – his record currently stands at eight wins and one draw.
Leicester, the 2016/17 Premier League champions, have won only three of 44 away matches against United, their last victory at Old Trafford coming in 1998 when the score was 1-0.
In team news, the Red Devils will be missing Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic as they are all injured.
The Foxes have no serious injuries to report on, but could be without 2018 FIFA World Cup stars Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire, who arrived back late from their holidays.
Here's how they line up:
Manchester United: De Gea, Darmian, Bailly, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, Pereira, Pogba, Mata, Sanchez, Rashford
Leicester City: Schmeichel; Amartey, Morgan, Maguire, Chilwell; Ndidi, Silva; Ricardo, Maddison, Gray; Iheanacho.
