Southampton star Nathan Redmond has revealed the details of his intense chat with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after the final whistle on Wednesday night.
The former FC Barcelona boss was caught on camera having a heated debate with the England international as they walked off the pitch after the Citizens beat the Saints 2-1 at the Etihad.
There were rumours that chat was not as friendly as Guardiola made it out to be in a post-match press conference, but the winger has quashed those claims, saying the Catalan manager was nothing but complimentary.
"Yes, he was very passionate, intense and aggressive, but he was only very complimentary and positive to me," Redmond revealed in an Instagram post, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
"He commented on my qualities as a young English player and how he wanted me to attack his team more during the game in a similar way to last season.
"I told him I was doing what my manager had asked me to do in the game. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Nothing negative or offensive was said towards me from Pep and that's what makes him one of the best managers in world football."
Thanks to a Raheem Sterling winner in the dying minutes of the match, Man City have now won 12 games in a row in the Premier League.
