Robinho On His Strange Move To England

By Kurt Buckerfield - Sep 11, 2018 09:29 AM @KurtLaduma

Former Brazil international Robinho, who spent two years in England after leaving Real Madrid, has opened up about his unusual move to the Premier League in 2010.

Reports: The Four Players Zidane Would Sign For Man Utd

The Brazilian was once considered among the most talented players in world football, but a number of ups and downs followed when he joined Los Blancos in 2008.

Although he played a lot of matches, Robinho was unable to establish himself as much as he would have liked at Real, and eventually joined Manchester City two years later.

The 34-year-old, who now plays for Sivasspor, has now revealed that he was expecting to move to Chelsea, but a fallout between Real and the Blues led to him joining the Citizens.

"I wanted to go to Chelsea, (former Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe) Scolari told me that I could make the difference for him in the team," he said, according to Marca.

"However, Real Madrid ended up badly with them, they didn't like the way that Chelsea sold shirts with my name on them before the deal was done.

"I am sure it was this that led to the negotiations to fail and it was a case of pride for Real Madrid.

"On top of this, Chelsea were in the Champions league and City weren't."

Robinho showed glimpses of his remarkable potential in England, but was sold to AC Milan just two years after his arrival.

Robinho joined Los Blancos in 2005, and joined Man City in 2008. For me he was good player but he never reached they height expected.

He performed, its just that they were comparing him to abo CR7 nabo Messi hence they did not see the good performances he put. The same is happening with Neymar, putting too much pressure and given too much responsibility....
