Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez apparently handed in a transfer request on Tuesday evening after news broke that Manchester City were interested in him. Here is how much the Citizens' might need to pay for the African star.
According to the English publication The Daily Mirror, the Foxes have slapped a £90 million (R1.52 billion) price-tag on the Algerian international in an effort to try to keep the Premier League leaders away from their prized asset.
The Manchester-based club are reportedly only willing to pay Leicester around £60 million (R1.01 billion) for the former PFA Footballer of the Year and, with the transfer window closing on Wednesday night, there still is a lot of negotiating to be done if any deal is to happen.
The report suggests that Guardiola feels that he may need to add more firepower to his squad, as he will be without the services of injured Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane for the next couple of weeks.
Mahrez has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this season, but it seems as if the City rumours have turned his head. Latest reports suggest, he handed in a transfer request and is not in Leicester's squad for the trip to Everton.
The 26-year-old has made 27 appearances for Leicester this season, scoring nine goals and assisting in nine more.
