Reports: Wantaway Arsenal Star Will Snub Real Madrid For Premier League Club
A wantaway Arsenal star will reportedly snub Spanish giants Real Madrid to join a Premier League rival.
There are claims that Real president Florentino Perez has put Chile international Alexis Sanchez on his list of possible transfer targets for next season.
Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski are also believed to be on the Spanish side’s list.
According to the Daily Mirror, the 28-year-old will turn down any approach from the reigning La Liga champions, as he apparently would like to work under Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens are said to be confident in landing their No.1 target either in January or at the end of the season after failing to sign him for £60 million (R1 billion) on Deadline Day during the recent window.
Sanchez was reportedly on the verge of making a move to Manchester, but Arsenal stood firm and decided against selling the forward after failing to sign a suitable replacement.
The former FC Barcelona star is in the final year of his contract at the Emirates and is expected to leave the club for free next season.
The Chilean has made 147 appearances for the London club so far, scoring 73 goals and assisting in a further 42 more.
