The Gunners are in negotiations with three players who could boost their defence next season, according to English publication the Daily Mirror.
It has been suggested that the north London side is on the verge of signing Juventus star Stephan Lichtsteiner and centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
Turkey and Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu is the third player Arsenal are apparently in for at the moment, and could cost the Emirates side about £35 million (R586 million).
Of the three abovementioned names, Lichsteiner, 34, is the only player who will be at the World Cup this year, having been included in Switzerland's squad for the showpiece in Russia.
Papastathopoulos is expected to come in and replace Frenchman Laurent Koscielny in Arsenal's backline, while Soyuncu could be Per Mertesacker's long-term replacement.
The Turkish defender has confirmed that Arsenal are chasing his signature..
"Arsenal is one of the most important clubs in England," Soyuncu told Turkish media, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
"I know they're interested in me, but there's nothing finalised yet about my transfer. After the national team camp, we'll have talks."
