Reports: Sergio Aguero Linked With LaLiga Swap Deal
Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is reportedly linked with a shock swap deal that could see him return to LaLiga.
According to The Sun, Atletico Madrid are interested in taking the 29-year-old back to the club as they see him as the perfect partner for former Chelsea star Diego Costa.
The Argentine striker joined the Citizens from the Spanish side in 2011 for a fee of £38 million (R644 million), and could be used in a swap deal that could see Antoine Griezmann go the other way.
Pep Guardiola is apparently not keen on losing Aguero's services, but is willing to negotiate if he is able to land the French international as his replacement.
It is believed that Griezmann has a buyout clause of £85 million (R1.44 billion), and there are rumours he is looking to leave the Madrid club at the end of the season.
While City are said to value Aguero at about £60 million (R1.1 billion), they apparently feel a swap deal is possible.
"Atletico have contacted Sergio's representatives to see if there is any chance of getting him back," a source close to the Citizens said, as quoted by The Sun.
"Pep doesn't want him to go, but has been looking at bringing in Antoine Griezmann, so there could be something there.
"Pep is a massive fan of him and his clause at the end of the season is a bargain for a player of his quality.
"City have made discreet enquiries over Griezmann in the past, so there is the interest from both sides."
