Reports: Pep Guardiola Wants To Reunite With FC Barcelona Superstar At Manchester City
An FC Barcelona superstar is said to be nearing an exit from the Catalan giants, and Pep Guardiola is believed to be set on luring the player to Manchester City.
Midfielder Andres Iniesta's future in Spain remains uncertain, with reports suggesting he could soon be off to the Chinese Super League.
The player's tears after he was substituted off in Barca's 5-0 Copa del Rey final win over Sevilla at the weekend perhaps indicate he will be moving on, although he is yet to make an official announcement on where he will be playing next season.
According to AS, however, Guardiola has pounced on the situation in the hope of convincing the 33-year-old to join the Citizens.
The Spanish manager would reportedly love to reunite with Iniesta, whom he worked with for four years at the Camp Nou.
City are said to be in the market for another midfielder, with Guardiola recently admitting that he expects David Silva to play less next season.
African midfielder Yaya Toure is also expected to leave the Citizens at the end of the campaign, which could be another reason for the City boss targeting Iniesta.
Iniesta has played 670 times for Barca since his debut for the club's senior in 2002, and has won 31 trophies along the way.
