Reports: Pep Guardiola Wants Superstar Striker At Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly identified the striker he wants the Citizens to break the bank for at the end of the season.
According to Diario Gol, City are considering a £177 million (R2.57 billion) move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.
The England international has been one of the deadliest forwards in the Premier League over the past few years, and has reportedly also attracted interest from Real Madrid.
However, many doubt Kane will want to leave England just yet, with Alan Shearer's 260-goal EPL record in the 24-year-old's sights.
Guardiola is said to be looking to replace striker Sergio Aguero with the Spurs man, despite the former's excellent form this season.
The Argentine has been linked with a move away from City ever since Guardiola’s arrival at the Etihad, and the signing of Kane would soften the blow of losing the 29-year-old somewhat.
It has also been claimed, though, that Spurs would be more willing to sell Kane to a team outside of England.
Kane has scored 134 goals and assisted a further 21 strikes in 204 appearance for Spurs since making his debut for the club's senior side in the 2013/14 campaign.
