According to English publication the Daily Mirror, the former FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has set his eye on 17-year-old defender Lucas Halter and it is suggested that he would like to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.
The centre-back, who turns 18 next month, is rated as one of the best young defenders in Brazil and has already represented his country at Under-17 level.
Halter, who currently plays his football for Atletico Paranaense, is 1.87m tall and has built a bit of a reputation in South America for his composure on the ball and dominant aerial ability.
The defender is his club’s captain at youth level and is also linked with LaLiga outfit Atletico Madrid and UEFA Champions League semi-finalists AS Roma.
Guardiola, who has turned Halter's countrymen Ederson, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho into Premier League winners, is hoping that the Citizen's recent success will help him secure the defender's signature in the coming months.
