One of Manchester United's stars is reportedly upset with Jose Mourinho after being singled out for criticism by the Portuguese tactician.
United stumbled to their third successive defeat in the 3-1 loss to Watford on Sunday, which completed a horror week for the boss and his new club.
In just eight days, the Red Devils lost to crosstown rivals Manchester City, Feyenoord in the Europa League and then Watford to drop six points behind Pep Guardiola's league leaders.
Mourinho was not impressed with Luke Shaw in the club's latest loss, and publicly singled the 21-year-old out for his fault in the build-up to the Hornets' second goal.
"For the second goal, they receive the ball and our left back is 25 metres distance from him, instead of five metres," the coach said in the aftermath of the defeat, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
"But even at 25 metres, then you have to jump and go press. But no, we wait."
The left back, who was reportedly playing with a minor groin problem and could now miss up to three weeks of football, was apparently not happy with his manager's public remarks.
According to The Times, Shaw "feels that he would benefit more from private instruction from the Manchester United manager, rather than being made a scapegoat" for the loss.
This was not the first time Mourinho has criticised his United stars in public – he singled out Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard after their dismal first halves in the defeat to City.
