English giants Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of confirming their first signing for next season, one that is bound to surprise most.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils have activated FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot's £17.4 million (R293 million) release clause.
The 19-year-old, who has made only seven senior appearances for the Portuguese giants since February, apparently caught the eye of Jose Mourinho earlier this year and is seen as a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia, who will turn 33 in August.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager is said to believe that the teenage defender has a lot of potential and would be a great asset to have in his squad for the upcoming campaign.
It has been suggested that personal terms between the English club and the player have already been agreed, and Dalot could be a United player within the next few days.
