Manchester United have reportedly been given great news in their pursuit of one of FC Barcelona's most important players.
Jose Mourinho is said to be heavily interested in luring French defender Samuel Umtiti to England, with the player yet to be offered an improved deal in Spain.
According to Calciomercato, the Catalan club is not in a rush to renew the centre back's current deal, and have made it clear they will not be forced into anything.
Despite his contract only expiring in 2021, Umtiti is reportedly after a higher wage at the club as he feels he should be earning more than £75 000 (R1.2 million) a week.
It has been claimed that United have offered the France international the opportunity to earn far more money in the Premier League, which is said to have tempted and even unsettled the 24-year-old.
Umtiti has been a pillar of strength in the Blaugrana's backline this season, and has become a fan favourite since his arrival in Spain in 2016.
