The English giants have once again been linked with a host of names in the transfer window, with Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred expected by many to be Jose Mourinho's first signing.
The Brazilian is said to have arrived for a medical at the club on Monday, and is expected to be announced as new United player later in the week.
However, Mourinho's shopping spree will not end with the midfielder – the Portuguese is reportedly also targeting Los Blancos superstar Gareth Bale.
The Welshman was the Man of the Match in this year's UEFA Champions League final after scoring a brace against Liverpool, but suggested immediately after the game that he could leave the Spanish giants.
Bale is looking for more regular game time, having said that he needs to play "week in week out", and confirmed he will sit down with his agent to discuss a potential move.
The Sunday Times has claimed United are prepared to match Real's £85 million (R1.44 billion) asking price for the Welshman and would offer him wages in excess of £500 000 (R8.5 million) a week. The massive salary would see him surpass Alexis Sanchez as the highest paid player at United.
