Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in signing a surprise star who was recently knocked out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with his country.
Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri was relegated with Stoke City this past season, and will reportedly be allowed to leave for £12 million (R217 million).
Liverpool are believed to have shown interest in the 26-year-old, who has previously represented clubs such as Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
According to The Sun, Mourinho is now also considering a move for the left-footed star, with the player having made it clear he wants to remain in England.
Shaqiri joined the Potters from Inter in 2015, and has scored 15 goals and assisted a further 15 strikes in 92 matches for the English club so far.
The winger has struggled with his fair share of injuries since his arrival in England, but always looked a threat when on the pitch for Stoke.
