Jose Mourinho's Manchester United have been linked with one of football's most controversial stars, who is valued at €100 million (R1.4 billion) by his agent.
Nice forward Mario Balotelli has been impressive in his past two seasons in France, where he has performed consistently, perhaps against the odds.
Many supporters wrote the Italian off as a flop signing when he left Liverpool in 2016, but following his impressive form in France, his agent, Mino Raiola, has claimed there are many clubs after his client's signature.
The super-agent recently insisted Balotelli is worth €100 million, and that while there is interest from Italian clubs in the player, there are also Premier League clubs monitoring the star.
According to the Daily Express and Manchester Evening News, United are one of the clubs looking to lure the 27-year-old back to England.
Despite Balotelli's relationship with their rivals Manchester City, it is perhaps the player’s reportedly troubled relationship with Mourinho that makes this link even more surprising.
The Portuguese manager once described the controversial striker as "uncoachable", having worked with him at Inter Milan in the Serie A.
Balotelli has scored 39 goals in 60 games for Nice since his arrival at the club in August 2016.
