Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been linked with moves for Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred and Chelsea's Willian, but new reports suggest he is lining up a £40 million (R678 million) bid for a different Brazilian plying his trade in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils are believed to be interested in signing a winger in the next window, and apparently reckon Watford's Richarlison would be a great signing.

The Brazilian, who was discovered by the Hornets' scouting department, was signed from Fluminense for £11.2 million (R190 million) at the beginning of the current campaign.

The 20-year-old, who is reportedly also being watched by Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco, had a terrific start to life in the English top flight, scoring five goals in his first 12 matches, but has since not hit the back of the net in the past five months.

Mourinho's side could be set to face stiff competition from another Premier League club for the Brazilian's signature, though, as it is believed that Chelsea have been a long-time admirer of the attacker.

Ever since Richarlison landed in the UK, the forward has apparently been socialising with David Luiz and Willian on a regular basis, and these friendships could make the Blues favourites to land the Watford star.
