The 28-year-old centre back has put in a number of inconsistent performances for the Red Devils in this campaign, and there are rumours that the Portuguese tactician is now ready to cash in on him while he believes he still can.
The defender was part of the English giants' humiliating 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, and according to the Daily Mirror, the former Chelsea boss is now ready to replace him with the Leicester City and England international Harry Maguire.
The 25-year-old defender is believed to be valued at about £35 million (R602 million), and his performances for the Foxes this season have put him on the radars of some of the Premier League's elite.
The defender, who has also been linked with the Blues, has started three of England's past four matches – albeit all friendlies – and is expected to make Gareth Southgate's squad for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
Maguire joined Leicester at the beginning of the season for £17 million (R292 million) after Hull City were relegated to the Championship following the 2016/17 campaign.
