Manchester City won the Premier League comfortably this past season, but Pep Guardiola is already looking at ways to improve his star-studded team. The Citizens are now said to be close to making their first signing ahead of next season!

The Highest-Paid EPL Players After Kane Extension

The Spaniard's side played some remarkable football during the 2017/18 campaign, and set several records on their way to the title.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho performed well in midfield for City, but new reports suggested that Guardiola wants to strengthen in that area.

According to Sky Sports, the Citizens are close to securing the signature of Italy international Jorginho, who has been excellent for Napoli since his arrival at the club in 2014.

The Brazilian-born player could reportedly cost the EPL champions £46.5 million (R849 million), although negotiations are believed to still be underway.
