Earlier in the week, reports in Spain suggested that Coutinho, who spent five years at Anfield, was in line to make a sensational return to Liverpool after falling out of favour at both loan team Bayern Munich and parent club FC Barcelona.
Barca are said to have set a £91 million (R1.7 billion) price tag on the Brazil midfielder's head, an amount that represents a significant loss on the reported £142 million (R2.6 billion) the club paid to sign him from Liverpool in 2018.

Coutinho joined Bayern on loan at the beginning of the season, with the German outfit believed to have an option to purchase the former Inter Milan star for £100 million (R1.8 billion), but it appears unlikely a permanent deal will materialise.
