Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen to reunite with an African star he coached during his time in the Bundesliga.
According to English publication the Daily Express, the German is considering replacing England international Daniel Sturridge with Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international is expected to leave BVB when the transfer window opens next month after a series of controversial incidents in recent months.
Aubameyang, who reportedly had a transfer request rejected at the beginning of the season, has been suspended by Dortmund twice in this campaign already – once for arriving late for training, and the other for taking a trip to Italy, which was unauthorised by his club.
The Bundesliga club is said to have had enough of the African's unprofessional behaviour, and is open to any offers that might come their way for the striker.
Chelsea's Antonio Conte is said to be monitoring the forward's situation, but according to recent reports, Klopp is now the favourite to sign Aubameyang.
The 28-year-old has made 19 appearances for BVB so far this season, scoring 17 goals and assisting a further three strikes.
