Chelsea have reportedly entered the race for Jose Mourinho's last transfer target for Manchester United in this transfer window.
Monaco right back Fabinho has reportedly been a target of Mourinho's over the past few months, but according to L'Equipe, Chelsea are also after the player.
The Blues are said to be willing to make a £25 million (R472 million) bid for the player, who was given his professional debut at Real Madrid by the Portuguese manager a few years ago.
Fabinho is often referred to as the "next Dani Alves", and is rated highly in Ligue 1, where current club Monaco want him to stay.
The French side will be participating in the UEFA Champions League this season, unlike United and Chelsea.
The defender has already scored four goals in six matches for Monaco this season, with two of those strikes coming in the league, and two in UCL qualification.
