Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly turned down an offer from a club in Europe as he eyes a shock return to the Premier League.
On Monday, Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon relieved Sylvinho of his managerial duties following the team's poor start to the 2019/20 season.
Eager to find a new manager as soon as possible, the French club is believed to have approached the ex-Red Devils boss this week, only for their offer to be declined.
According to French publication RMC, Mourinho declined the approach from Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, but thanked him for their interest.
It is said that the 56-year-old would much rather prefer a return to England, where his family still live.
The Daily Mail claimed on Wednesday that Mourinho would accept an offer from Tottenham Hotspur if the London club were to sack Mauricio Pochettino, with the London club having managed just three wins across all competitions so far this season.
The same report stated Mourinho has rejected a number of other offers, including one from Benfica in Portugal and from teams in the Chinese Super League.
