Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly sent scouts to watch four players in the UEFA Champions League clash between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
According to Don Balon, the Portuguese boss had a scout watch three Los Blancos players: defender Raphael Varane, striker Alvaro Morata and Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez.
The fourth player Mourinho had monitored was the Rojiblancos' Antoine Griezmann, who has been heavily linked with the Red Devils in recent transfer windows.
The manager is reportedly looking to boost his squad for next season, but the quality of signings might depend on whether or not United qualify for the 2017/18 edition of the Champions League.
Mourinho's side are in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, and could also qualify for the UCL if they finish strongly in the Premier League.
United are one point off the top four, but would get an automatic entry into the Champions League if they win the Europa League.
