Reports: Jose Mourinho's Manchester United To Bid For Record Bayern Munich Goalscorer
Jose Mourinho's Manchester United are reportedly set to bid for a record-breaking Bayern Munich goalscorer.
According to German publication Kicker, the Red Devils have made initial steps to try to sign Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.
The Poland international recently became the Bavarian's highest scoring foreign player with 142 goals, beating Brazilian attacker Giovane Elber's record of 140 strikes. He also scored his 100th Bundesliga goal for Bayern in the process.
Lewandowski, who has been linked with an exit from the Allianz Arena for a while now, has also caught the attention LaLiga giants Real Madrid and reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, among others, in recent months.
The striker has apparently been planning a move away for some time, and in order to do this, he sacked his previous agent of 10 years.
The forward, who is now represented by Pini Zahavi, is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League and has apparently told his new agent that Old Trafford would be his preferred destination.
The 29-year-old has made 35 appearances for the Bavarian side so far this season, scoring 32 goals and assisting a further four strikes.
