Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly desperate for the club to make a signing in the January transfer window.
According to The Sun, the Portuguese is meeting with Ed Woodward this week, and will ask the vice-chairman to provide transfer funds to add to the team in January.
It has been claimed Mourinho wants the board to show him they are fully behind him by allowing him to make a signing in the next transfer window.
It is believed the Portuguese wants to add a centre-back to his squad at the turn of the year, with AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli and Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar reportedly on his wish list.
Both central defenders have shown great promise in Italy, and are also both just 23 years old.
Mourinho reportedly tried to sign a central defender in the window before the beginning of the season, but his efforts were in vain as the board failed to see to his demands.
Scott McTominay has been used in United's backline in recent games, which many feel is Mourinho's way of showing those above him that signings are needed.
