Reports: Gareth Bale To Manchester United To Be Decided This Week
Reports out of England suggest that Gareth Bale's potential move to Manchester United could be decided this week as he plans to meet with Real Madrid officials to discuss his future.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Wales international has told close friends he is "open-minded" about his future, but would like to meet with his new manager before making any decision about staying at or leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
After scoring twice in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool, the Welshman hinted that he might be ready to leave Real after a frustrating season.
With Cristiano Ronaldo having joined Juventus, though, Bale will now be hoping he will be given more of a leadership role at the Madrid club, but will only know if this is the case once he has held talks with new manager Julen Lopetegui.
The Red Devils have been a long-time admirer of Bale, and are said to be willing to spend up to £90 million (R1.57 billion) on the former Tottenham Hotspur star.
Manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be on the lookout for a right winger, and apparently feels the 29-year-old is what his squad needs if they are to challenge for the Premier League.
Bale made 39 appearances for Real last season, scoring 21 goals and assisting a further seven strikes.
