According to The Sun, the former Valencia playmaker could make way for Brazil international Willian, who is now seen as the Spaniard's long-term replacement at Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old's representatives have apparently been on the phone with United in recent weeks, and although he is not said to be desperate to leave the London side, he is believed to be willing to listen to offers.

The Blues winger has a contract until 2020 at Stamford Bridge, and it is rumoured that the club will demand a transfer fee of about £30 million (R502 million) for his services.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is apparently looking to shake things up in the upcoming transfer window, and has identified Willian as one of his main targets.

The English giants are said to be looking for a player who can make the right wing their own next season, which is why the former Shakhtar Donetsk star is being pursued.

Willian has made 47 appearances for the Blues so far this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting a further 11 strikes.
