As part of a rumoured major squad overhaul next season, Premier League outfit Chelsea are reportedly looking to bolster their midfield options with an African enforcer who has also been linked with Manchester United.
According to The Sun, the Blues are believed to be interested in Ivory Coast international Jean Michael Seri, who plays for Ligue 1 side Nice.
The central midfielder has been linked with FC Barcelona and the Red Devils over the past few months, and it seems he now has a few new suitors on his trail.
Chelsea representatives have apparently contacted Nice about the African's availability in recent weeks, and they could land the Ivorian for a fee of £35 million (R596 million), which is Seri's release clause.
The 26-year-old has had a successful stint with the French side since his £1 million (R17 million) move from Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira back in 2015.
Manchester City and Liverpool are another two sides that have also shown interest in Seri this season, but both now seem out of the race for his signature.
The Ivorian, who mainly plays as a box-to-box midfielder, has made 117 appearances for Nice, scoring 11 goals and assisting 23 further strikes.
