Premier League outfit Chelsea are reportedly forcing a star, who is heavily linked with Real Madrid, to stay at the club after rejecting a £31 million (R539 million) bid for him.
According to the Daily Express, the Blues will not allow Belgium international Thibaut Courtois to leave Stamford Bridge this season, despite what the player's wish to do so.
Close friends of the Chelsea No. 1 were reportedly told that the Belgian is desperate to see a move to Real go through, but Chelsea apparently feel the £31 million (R539 million) fee that has been offered is far too low.
The shot-stopper, who has only one year remaining on his contract, wants to see more of his family and kids, who live in Madrid.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has been in frequent contact with Real in a bid to get the Spanish club to raise their offer, but it seems the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners will not budge.
It has been suggested that one of the main reasons why the Blues are stalling on this deal is because they feel they do not have enough time to find a suitable replacement for Courtois.
