Premier League outfit Chelsea are reportedly ready to break the African transfer record, as they seem willing to offer £60 million (R1 billion) for one of Africa’s most sort after stars.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen on Napoli and Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
It is believed that the London side are willing to smash their club record fee on the centre-back, who is highly rated in Serie A and Europe.
The Blues are said to be looking for defensive reinforcements this season, as Kurt Zouma is still recovering from a knee injury he picked up last season.
Chelsea have already brought in two players, France midfielder N’golo Kante and Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi, but it is rumoured that the club isn’t done spending yet.
It has been reported that the Stamford Bridge-side are still looking for two more signings this window, with Koulibaly and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku allegedly topping their current shopping list.
The Senegalese star has made 81 appearances for Napoli in his career and has scored one goal, assisting in four more in all competitions.
