According to the Daily Mail, the London side is preparing to axe Wenger should he not deliver Champions League football for a second successive campaign.
The Frenchman, who has one year left on his current contract, has been in charge of the Emirates club for 22 years now, but many believe it is time for him to step aside.
The four-man shortlist of potential replacements is said to compose of Germany national team boss Joachim Low, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, Monaco's Leonardo Jardim and Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta.
Low, who won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil with Die Mannschaft, is said to be Arsenal's main target, but will only be available after the 2018 spectacle in Russia, which will be his last tournament with Germany.
It has been said that the Gunners' board will let Wenger step down on his own terms, and are willing to give him the opportunity to win the UEFA Europa League, which would secure Champions League football for the North London club.
