Reports: Alexis Sanchez To Manchester City Imminent
Reports coming out of England suggest that Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez could complete a move to Manchester City by the end of this week.
According to ESPN, the two Premier League clubs have opened talks over a possible deal, and it could be completed come this weekend.
The Gunners have apparently given up on trying to persuade the 29-year-old to sign a new deal at the Emirates, and are now said to be willing to cash in on him rather than letting him leave for free at the end of the campaign.
Sanchez is in the last six months of his current contract, and will be a free agent come the end of June 2018 if he does not sign an extension or has joined another club by then.
Sources close to the player suggest that the Chilean is desperate to reunite with manager Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, and is willing to wait until the end of the season to do so.
City are looking to add more attacking depth to their squad as they have only Sergio Aguero available to play as an out-and-out striker at the moment.
The Citizens lost the services of Gabriel Jesus during the December period after he suffered knee ligament damage, which could rule him out for up to six weeks.
Arsenal apparently want about £35 million (R588 million) for Sanchez, but the Citizens will be hoping they can get him for far less.
