According to Manchester Evening News, the former Real Madrid boss will not be as desperate in the coming transfer season as previously, and will opt against chasing lost causes such as Griezmann, who seems destined to join FC Barcelona.
In fact, United will not make any attacking reinforcements unless one of their current players depart, according to the report.
The Portuguese manager has instead cast his eye on midfield and defensive reinforcements in a bid to address his side's problems at left back, centre back and central midfield.
Napoli's Jorginho, who has impressed in the Serie A title race this season, and Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred are reportedly Mourinho's preferred options in midfield if his No. 1 target, Toni Kroos, opts to stay at Real Madrid.
Alex Sandro has been identified as the preferred choice for the left-back position, while Tottenham Hotspur's Danny Rose is the alternative to the Brazilian.
In addition, United are keen to pounce on Toby Alderweireld's situation at Spurs to improve their central defence, with the Lilywhites reportedly resigned to the Belgian defender leaving after the current campaign.
