The Tottenham Hotspur boss is yet to sign anyone in January, but is interested in Eder Militao, according to Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Marca.
Mourinho is said to be keen on the Brazilian and wants to sign him on an initial loan with a view of making the deal permanent at a later stage.
Militao has seemingly fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane at Los Blancos, making just three appearances all season.
Overall, he featured in just 23 games since joining the club from Porto for €50 million.
Real would reportedly be prepared to offload the 22-year-old’s salary but are not prepared to let him go for cheap.
Militao can play as centre-back or right-back but was not used by Zidane despite the Frenchman’s two first choice right-backs Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola not being available.
Mourinho, meanwhile, wants to upgrade his defence, with Spurs currently in fifth place, seven points behind new Premier League leaders Manchester United with a game in hand.
