Roma surprisingly did not sign a single midfielder in the off-season as the Portuguese tactician opted to improve the attack and goalkeeping department.
The Daily Mirror has now reported that Mourinho's wish list for the next window includes Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Harry Winks, Manchester United duo Diogo Dalot and Charlie Wellens, as well as Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Sky Sports News has reported that Maitland-Niles is on the brink of making a loan move to the Stadio Olimpico for the remainder of the season.
Loftus-Cheek and Winks both played under Mourinho at Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively, and have been linked with a move to Rome after struggling for regular game time this season.
Meanwhile, Dalot seems unlikely to leave Old Trafford after being given a run of games under new interim United manager Ralf Rangnick.
