Reports suggest that Erling Haaland has finally come to a decision regarding his immediate footballing future, with his exit from Borussia Dortmund said to be imminent.
With the Norwegian forward having been the subject of much transfer speculation in recent months, an announcement regarding his next football destination is being anticipated within the next week.
It has been reported that the Leeds-born striker's release clause of £63 million (R1.2 billion) in his contract with Dortmund is set to kick in during the upcoming transfer window and, according to The Athletic, Manchester City are set to fit the bill.
Reports emerged last month suggesting that the Citizens and Haaland had agreed personal terms, with the 21-year-old giving the all-clear for the move to the reigning Premier League champions, which seemingly made way for dialogue between Dortmund and City to take place.
The Bundesliga side is believed to be expecting a notification from City that they will pay the fee necessary to activate Haaland's release clause in the days ahead, with the deal now said to be all but done.
Unless there are any unforeseen complications, the Scandinavian will join City when they begin their preparations for the 2022/23 season.
Pep Guardiola appears to have lured one of Europe's hottest properties to England and beaten the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Barcelona to land the marksman's signature.
Should the deal be completed, Haaland will be playing for the same club his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, represented as a midfielder between 2000 and 2003.
