Various reports have claimed that Los Blanco had already agreed a fee for the Chelsea number one, who picked up the Golden Glove award at the World Cup.
Now according to Sky Sports News, England and Everton shot-stopper Jordan Pickford has emerged as a primary target should Courtois leave.
Leicester City's Kasper Schmeicel and Stoke City's Jack Butland are also believed to be on the club's shortlist.
Pickford only joined the Toffees from Sunderland last season in a deal worth £30 million and the same report claims Everton will not budge to sell the goalkeeper, who starred for England at the World Cup.
The Blues were interested signing Brazil international Alisson Becker, who was new manager Maurizio Sarri's first choice, however the shot-stopper joined Liverpool.
There has been no official word from Courtois and his future thus far, but reports claim he is likely on his way out.
